New HD Antenna Brings Every TV Back to Life in Keilor
Every TV in the house had lost its picture. That was the call we took from a double-storey home in Keilor, and the owner wanted it sorted quickly. When our local technician got up on the roof, the cause was clear: the old antenna was broken. It was replaced with a new HD antenna, and every channel came back strong before he left.
The job: out with the broken antenna, in with a new HD antenna
A broken antenna rarely fails all at once. Elements bend or snap, the picture starts to pixelate in wind or rain, and eventually channels drop out on every TV. On this Keilor home, the fix was to remove the broken antenna, fit a new HD antenna to the mast, and run 4 metres of new lead-in cable so the signal reaches the TVs cleanly.
Height helps on a double-storey home. Up on the roof, the antenna has a clearer line to Melbourne’s transmitters, and a solid mast keeps it steady when the wind picks up across the Maribyrnong valley.
Tested before we left
Every job finishes with a signal test, not just a quick look at the TV. On this one the meter showed a strong signal with plenty of headroom, so the picture holds up even on a wet, windy day.
The owner was happy enough to leave us positive feedback afterwards.
A community that looks after its own
Keilor has a real country-town feel for a suburb this close to the city, and much of that comes from its sporting clubs. On a Saturday in footy season you’ll find the Keilor Football Club, the Blues, at Joe Brown Oval on the Keilor Recreation Reserve, with families on the boundary and generations of locals who’ve pulled on the jumper. It’s the kind of place where people know their neighbours and recommend a tradie by word of mouth.
That’s how we like to work in Keilor too: a local technician who turns up when we say, explains what’s wrong in plain English, and fixes it properly the first time. Whether it’s catching the footy replay, the AFL on a Friday night or the news, a clear picture matters.
Signs you need an antenna replacement in Keilor
- The picture freezes or pixelates on every TV, not just one
- Channels drop out in wind or rain
- Bent, missing or rusty parts on the antenna, or a leaning mast
- The antenna is more than 10 to 15 years old and has never been checked
Questions we often get in Keilor
How soon can you come?
Book online or call and we’ll find the earliest time that suits. Availability depends on the day and the area, and we’ll let you know when your technician is on the way.
Do I need a new antenna, or can mine be fixed?
Sometimes a realign, a new cable or a new mount is enough. If the antenna itself is broken, replacing it is usually the better fix. A signal test shows which it is before anything is replaced.
Do you work across all of Keilor?
Yes. Our local team looks after Keilor, Keilor East, Keilor Downs and Keilor Park, with antennas, TV points, TV wall mounting, Wi-Fi and CCTV.
