Our technicians travel hundreds of miles to different places each day for their job. It’s interesting to hear stories from them about the good experiences they have while working. And sometimes it’s natural to hear about their frustration and bad days at work too. So, when we hear a great story, it really helps us know our techs are as happy as our customers.

Darren, one of our resident antenna technicians in Cottesloe, had an amazing experience recently as he worked in the beautiful Marine Parade in Cottesloe. The customer had called us two days earlier saying she needed to book an appointment with one of our antenna installers in Cottesloe and asked if we had one local. We gladly informed her that our guy Darren works in the area. According to the customer, they had recently moved in. They had bought their house last year and had just finished renovating it. Things were almost complete, but there was an old antenna and mast that needed to be removed and replaced with new ones.

Despite having a beautiful, natural view of the ocean through her new home’s glass windows, the customer still wanted to watch I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and her husband wanted to watch the footy, of course. Their lovely daughter was also into Peppa Pig, so upgrading their antenna to get the best possible signal for their TV was a necessity for this family.

Darren inspected the old antenna and could see why it wasn’t up for the job any longer. The poor old antenna had been working for a very long time now and was in need of well-deserved retirement. After carefully assessing the options he had for the customer, Darren made a couple of suggestions taking into account the price and what the customer could afford.

Solution for TV Reception Issues

The customer didn’t object to the price and said they just wanted to make sure everything was perfect and would work with no issues. Darren installed a new high-gain Australian-made antenna for the customer and a new amplifier to complete the setup. Now, given the location of the house is near the beach, Darren put in a heavier mast kit to be suitable for the conditions. In addition, he fitted the new antenna and amplifier for the customer.

He ensured that the antenna will not go off-balance even during windy days. Also, it will maintain a sturdy position for better signal transmission. As shaky antennas tend to affect TV reception it was important to secure the right placement for it on the roof. After making sure the signals were strong and healthy, Darren informed the customer that the antenna-and-booster installation was successful.

The customer was very happy with the results and expressed her thanks to Darren. After they said their goodbyes, Darren went for a late Saturday surf to start his weekend right. Can’t blame him as those Cottesloe beaches are a dream!
