It is a pure joy to be able to watch television shows from anywhere we want. For us, working in the antenna industry for years, just installing and fixing antennas is simply not enough.

In the Adelaide beachside suburb of Christies Beach, we had a customer who requested an additional TV point in her kitchen, which would connect to the existing antenna on top of her two-story townhouse. She was a fan of watching cooking shows in Australia and got a lot of her cooking ideas and recipes from the TV.

But, she was finding it a hassle to always watch the shows on her iPad. She took it with her when she was cooking in the kitchen because she didn’t have a TV there.Tony, our friendly local TV antenna expert in Adelaide, set out to fulfill the customer’s request.

When Tony reached the customer’s residence, he performed a quick inspection of the overall antenna and TV setup. The existing cabling path and building construction of the townhouse were checked. An external cable was needed to be run to the kitchen. Tony wanted to make sure that the installation process was flawless. So, he took his time investigating the space available.

According to Tony, it was not a difficult job, but it was time-consuming. He found out that the existing antenna was providing excellent signal reception to one outlet in the downstairs living room. And since the kitchen outlet would be located downstairs, so it would be picture perfect. Awesome! Heads up! Quality workmanship and the experience of our techs are what we pride ourselves on.

The following description might be techy, but it is the good part. This job is a classic example of how to get a cable from the top of a two-storey townhouse building with no wall cavity access for the cable run. The first step was to install a 2-way splitter in the ceiling, below the antenna. And just near the person-hole for easy access. Next was to open up the roof (one long sheet from front to back), so as to run the cable from the splitter to the back wall of the house. Then after closing the roof again, Tony installed a conduit to bring the cable down to the kitchen roof.

It was discreetly hidden behind a downpipe to the kitchen wall location. This was where we had installed the FTA outlet. The new wall-mounted TV was all ready for the customer. The TV point installation was completed with a signal check at the new outlet and also with a double check of the existing outlet in the living room. Because of the healthy signal, it was a happy TV, which gave us a happy customer! Sounds like a lot of work for an extra point? No issues for us, installations like these we do in a jiffy!
