How To Install A TV Splitter The Right Way

How To Install A TV Splitter The Right Way

What does one do when they have multiple TVs and one antenna? There’s quite a simple solution to this very common problem. Usually, we install a good quality TV splitter, but at times people intend to save costs by going the cheap route. Recently, we came across a case that perfectly highlights the difference between the two.

We performed an antenna installation for a customer in Drysdale, a town in the greater Geelong region of Victoria. You can easily spot the difference in the quality of workmanship by these images. The disappointing thing is the customer had paid a local electrician to install this TV splitter to get the 3 TVs in the house to work. Not surprisingly the TVs did not work and the electrician stopped coming back to fix the problem.

Upon arrival, our Mr Antenna installer pretty quickly realised the splitter and its connections was to blame for the poor TV reception in Drysdale. Our installer fitted new F Type connectors and a brand new splitter. The new splitter is also designed to pass power through each leg whereas the older splitter will not pass power. This makes it impossible to install a TV Masthead amplifier with a power supply inside the house, feeding power to the external booster.

Another happy Mr Antenna customer in Drysdale, therefore, a successful mission for our technician. If you have a new TV and want to install a splitter the right way, get a FREE quote today!
