Upgrading From An Old Sigma Antenna Out In Kilmore
Mr Antenna attended a job in Kilmore, Victoria today, for upgrading an old sigma antenna which was falling to bits. The main reason we were called was to acquire a digital VHF signal from Mount Dandenong. Our customer-preferred metropolitan advertising and news as opposed to regional content.
Fortunately for our customer, we had our newest franchise “Milad” down from Sydney for training! Milad was too quick to assess the situation and performed a field strength test on the roof. He acquired a satisfactory reading from the Mount Dandenong transmitters and immediately got to work installing one of our quality VHF Matchmaster antennas on steady weather-resistant universal mounts with a 34DB amplifier both with 4G/5G LTE filters which we highly recommended in regional Kilmore due to the strong cellular coverage in the town.
These LTE filters reduce the unwanted mobile phone signal from entering into the TV Antenna system which causes TV interference by way of TV pixelation in Kilmore. Once the tech installed the antenna, he also ran a new RG6 quad shield cable from the amplifier into the roof cavity to the existing outlets. While installing the new 3-way splitter, out of curiosity we tested the old bunnings Antsig splitter. The amount of signal loss, more than usual when using high-quality Matchmaster equipment, left us stunned. The signal loss was more than 12DB as opposed to the average 3DB on our quality splitters. This difference is absolutely critical when working in regional areas such as Kilmore, Woodendand, Heathcote and other regional areas. A testimony to our selection of quality Matchmaster equipment.
We often see cases of upgrading from the old sigma antenna. The new digital channel offerings sway the people. If you are searching for an upgrade, you know who to call!
